1. Patient Data

Process patient-specific medical data into a digital 3D model

Once you email CenterMed to place a new order, you will upload Patient's CT scans to the HIPAA complaint upload link. We recommend that you zip your DICOM folder into one zip file and then send that zip file. Each Custom Surgical Solution starts with patient scan data. The more accurate the data, the more accurate the service or product CenterMed can deliver. It is important to distribute our CT Scan ProtocolCT Scan Protocol to your respective radiology department to ensure proper scan resolution.
What we do
We will email you to include logistics, ordering, scheduling a planning session (if applicable) and upload / shipping steps, all in one.
2. Service request

Schedule online surgical planning meeting between surgeon and 3D Systems biomedical engineer

Once all case requirements are sent to CenterMed, our design team will prepare the preoperative scan data for a Surgical Planning Session with the surgeon. In the planning session, we go through each measurement and movement to simulate the surgery and design the patient-specific medical devices.
What we do
We will send you several available times to choose from for a Surgical Planning Session. These may take between 10 and 1 hour depending on surgeon preference, case complexity and quality of patient data.
3. SUrgical plan

Create patient-specific 3D models, guides and templates

Shortly after the Surgical Planning Session, our team will finalize the design as directed by the surgeon and deliver a surgical plan for review. This plan includes metrics, visuals, measurements, deliverables and case details for reference in surgery. The surgeon must provide written approval of the surgical plan to proceed to manufacturing of medical devices.
What we do
Once we finalize the surgical plan, our design team will design all surgical guides, splints, and anatomical models requested.
4. Manufacturing

3D print models and guides to smoothly transition surgical plan into operating room

Once the surgical plan is approved, the patient-specific medical devices within that plan are sent to manufacturing.
What we do
CenterMed 3D prints all products in our California factory to produce our Custom Surgical Solutions. We put all products through CenterMed's intensive quality control system.

Transfer virtual plan to the operating room with patient-specific models and guides

Manufactured parts are expedited to the customer in time for the relative cleaning and sterilization procedures found in the Instructions For Use (IFU) document.
What we do
CenterMed strives for every single product and interaction with you to be the best experience possible. We will always ask for your feedback for how we can improve any part of our process customized to you.
